Park tai chi and Chinese morning exercise culture

For many visitors, seeing tai chi in a park is one of the first visual impressions of Chinese wellness. The scene matters as much as the movement.

Public space as wellness space

Parks, squares, riverbanks, and residential courtyards can become informal wellness spaces. Movement is social, visible, and often intergenerational.

This is different from gym-centered fitness culture. The emphasis is not always intensity; it can be rhythm, continuity, and community.
